2025 4-star WR Travis Smith announces top eight schools

Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake four-star wide receiver Travis Smith holds offers from roughly 25 schools. Going forward, he will be focusing on eight of them.
Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Tennessee are Smith’s top programs. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound wideout has visited each of these schools except for Ole Miss and Oklahoma, but plans to see both programs in the spring.
“The relationships are why these schools stand out,” Smith told On3. “As I’ve been going through this recruiting process, the relationships that I’m building are the ones that I start to focus on and those are the guys I really plan to get to know better.”
According to Smith, each of his finalists stopped by his high school during January. He shared that the Bulldogs visited “as much as possible” and head coach Kirby Smart was one of the Georgia staffers who came to Westlake.
There is a chance that Smith will cut down his list to a top three in the future or commit in June or July. However, the No. 14 player in Georgia does not plan to rush his decision and already knows what matters to him most in a school.
“All in all, it will about where I see myself developing and being successful,” said Smith, the No. 74 overall prospect and No. 8 wide receiver in the 2025 On300. “That’s really the biggest thing. I want to develop myself and develop my skills to eventually be able to go to the highest level.”
Smith breaks down his top eight schools
Alabama: “Bama is Bama. (Wide receivers) coach (JaMarcus) Shephard, he’s done a great job communicating with me. He shows me how much of a priority I would be if they can get me.”
Auburn: “(Offensive coordinator/running backs) coach (Derrick) Nix, (head) coach (Hugh) Freeze and (wide receivers) coach (Marcus) Davis, they’ve been on me as well. Coach Freeze is the guy that ultimately produced D.K. Metcalf and A.J. Brown. With me knowing that, how could I not look at them as a great target for me to be successful with?”
Colorado: “They’re different. The style that they play with and the style that they carry themselves with, we’ve never seen it in college football. With that being different, I could see myself being at the school.”
Georgia: “They win. That’s really the main takeaway. I want to win. Obviously, I want to get on the field, but getting on the field and winning at the same time, that’s a huge deal.”
Georgia Tech: “The anchor with Georgia Tech is Eric Singleton (Jr.), but also (wide receivers) coach (Josh) Crawford. Eric was an All-American there as a freshman. With him being a freshman at the receiver position producing those numbers, that caught my attention.”
Ole Miss: “The guy that I look at that’s there currently is Tre Harris. His game, that’s everything I’m trying to do.”
Oklahoma: “I know about Oklahoma. The receivers coach there (Emmett Jones), he came in once or twice. He was talking with me and is trying to get me there in the spring.”
Tennessee: “That’s the offense I believe I’d gel into the easiest. (Wide receivers) coach (Kelsey) Pope and (head) coach (Josh) Heupel, they’ve been on me a lot ever since last year. They’ve really shown me a lot of commitment.”
